Netaji Subhashchandra Bose

My daughter, Chinmayee has had "Independence Day" celebration at her school on August 14 and her teachers wanted her to carry a chart, which should have a picture (cut-out or sketched) of any of our freedom fighters, or a write-up on freedom struggle, or anything related to our India's freedom.

So, I couldn't resist sketching out a portrait of great freedom fighter and a point of inspiration for me - Subhashchandra Bose, whom we also lovingly know as "Netaji".

Well, it was a task for me and it took three days for me to complete the sketch.

WOW! Were the reactions from my entire family. My Dad said, "I won't be able to sketch this even if I try to copy." I just smiled.

Little One's Teachers found the sketch, 'Fantastic'. Chinmayee made the celebrations more wonderful by singing "Vande Mataram" (all stanzas) for which she was adored and awarded. Our throats choked, when she shared this with us. Sad, we couldn't be a part of it, but we are happy to see her growing with virtues and respect for others and her home land.

Here's Wishing Everyone - A Happy Independence Day!
