Child Labor

I wrote a Haiku on this photo, I clicked a fortnight ago and personally feel, there's nothing much to write on this picture.

The picture itself conveys a million messages of pain, misery, and misfortune.

Truly saddening.

I had to counter this one, with another Haiku on blatant and idiotic claims made by politicians.

Campaigners claim growth –
affluent flex green black muscles.
Streets reveal reality.

 I only have one question to ask- Are we really growing?

Long Live Bapu!

October 2nd - birthday of a great Man and honored as Father of our Nation - India and popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi across the world.

It really takes God's grace to follow his foot steps. Although, his values and principles as of today; may have declined following, but it is only those who follow Gandhiji's morals and ethics, win the game of life. There are people, who accuse or abuse this gentle giant, but they have failed at all levels of life.

Words all over the world will fall short to describe the life of this great man.

All I can say is - 'Long Live Bapu!'

Writer's Imagination.

While waiting for a gentleman to carry out his duties in a sparsely occupied office; yesterday, I doodled out a cross on a used piece of paper and nothing struck, but just writing down 'a, b, c, d...' in lower case on those crossing lines. It was then, after reaching home; I realized, how badly I am suffering from a block and let my imagination flow on MS paint and then develop it on PS.

Wish all writers, blockage free writing and readers, unconditional reading.

On Life's Experiences...

I've experienced the first line of the quote in the picture; time and again, but in the past week, after meeting a gentle friend, whom I haven't had met or known for years together; I realized, the rest of the part within the quote is absolutely true.
May God Bless Him.
Share your feelings, if you ever tasted such sweetness. God Bless!
Background picture is of The Sun; captured through a window grill, early morning in Mumbai, India, last year.

Netaji Subhashchandra Bose

My daughter, Chinmayee has had "Independence Day" celebration at her school on August 14 and her teachers wanted her to carry a chart, which should have a picture (cut-out or sketched) of any of our freedom fighters, or a write-up on freedom struggle, or anything related to our India's freedom.

So, I couldn't resist sketching out a portrait of great freedom fighter and a point of inspiration for me - Subhashchandra Bose, whom we also lovingly know as "Netaji".

AniruddhaSastikar

Well, it was a task for me and it took three days for me to complete the sketch.

WOW! Were the reactions from my entire family. My Dad said, "I won't be able to sketch this even if I try to copy." I just smiled.

Little One's Teachers found the sketch, 'Fantastic'. Chinmayee made the celebrations more wonderful by singing "Vande Mataram" (all stanzas) for which she was adored and awarded. Our throats choked, when she shared this with us. Sad, we couldn't be a part of it, but we are happy to see her growing with virtues and respect for others and her home land.

Here's Wishing Everyone - A Happy Independence Day!

Cobwebbed.

The wait for You,
has been too long,
My Love.
I have met and thwarted all odds,
waiting –
wailing for You,
and I am about to sleep, forever;
My Love.
I am cobwebbed all over,
left immovable;
yet my feeble strong heart –
beats, strives, thrives, hopes,
You will one day, come to sever away;
these dark spins of wait,
and breathe me, life again.

Flowers, Anthers, and Leaves.

Flowers.
Anthers.
Leaves.
Pink and green,
so delicate,
yet so beautiful;
though made out
of crepe paper,
they gave out
a lovely fragrance,
of dedication and hard work,
which lured my -
heart, mind, and soul;
that I could only click
to cherish it forever,
till the last,
breath.

The picture is an artwork by my niece Shreeya Sastikar, daughter of older brother +Mangeshanand Sastikar and sister in law +Anagha Sastikar, which I truly appreciate.

Apart from that, a poetry of Wordsworth, which I read from her school text book, inspired me to write this small poem.

Am sure, at her current age (13) I was a plain dumb. :)

Cheers to you dear child. Am sure your parents are proud of you.
